Dottins Reef
Just one-half mile off the coast of St. James lies what many consider to be the most beautiful reef in Barbados. The generally calm seas offer excellent 100-foot visibility, allowing divers to view gorgonians, sea fans, brain coral, basket sponges, and staghorn flourishing along the canyons and walls. Additional residents of the reef include stingrays, barracuda, grouper, parrotfish, and turtles. Initial depths are about 65 feet, although dropoffs allow depths of around 130 feet.
